Edit: And just like that, YTTV and Disney+ started working again on both affected devices. No update to the Roku OS, no app updates, but both apps just started working. I was finally getting around to resetting the hardware, first on the Element Roku TV and then I checked the Roku 4. No problems on either device. Strange.
All other apps stream sound except Apple TV. I live in an apartment with thin walls, so to keep from disturbing my neighbors I use my headphones 100% of the time so this is a bit of a problem for me. I no longer go straight from HDMI 1 (DirecTV) to HDMI 3 (Roku). I first go to the ‘TV’ (RCA jack) port on my TV. Wait 3 seconds and switch to HDMI. Sound works first time.
