However, some member colleges are making changes for the 2019-20 application season and dropping the Coalition app altogether. The colleges accepting the Coalition Application for the 2019-20 college admissions season have been announced! The Coalition App has been growing in popularity since its inception in September of 2015 and there are now 140 schools on the list. Created in September 2015, the Coalition application emphasizes affordability. Colleges must offer affordable tuition or sufficient financial aid, as well as meet or exceed “rigorous” graduation requirements. While the Coalition application started small, more than 100 schools are now members, with many more projected to join next school year.
Like the Common Application, the Coalition Application is used by a large consortium of schools (over 150) in the college admissions process. However, the Coalition is not just a group of schools. The UW is a Single Application School: The Coalition application is the UW’s only application for freshman applicants as of autumn 2018. U.S. and international freshmen use the same application. The UW specific application for autumn 2021 opens September 1 each year. The application deadline is November 15.
